Kruger National Park is the largest wildlife reserve in South Africa, spanning over 7,500 square miles, and is among the largest in all of Africa.
Throughout our stay, we’ll be hosted by a very close friend who will be with us the entire time—there’s truly nothing like experiencing a country through the eyes of a local.
Visiting South Africa has been on our bucket list for many years, and we’re beyond excited. After our time in Africa, we’ll fly to Barcelona to board the brand-new Sun Princess for a 36-day voyage through the Mediterranean, eventually sailing all the way back to Fort Lauderdale.
This trip is especially meaningful, as we’ll both be celebrating our 70th birthdays while we’re away. Debbie will celebrate hers in Africa, and I’ll celebrate mine on board the ship. We were born just 19 days apart in the same year—and yes, I married an older woman… at least for those 19 days!
We’ll be flying Business Class on Emirates Airlines from LAX to Johannesburg via Dubai. Considering flight schedules and overall value, Emirates was the best choice for this journey. After our stay in Cape Town, we’ll fly from there to Barcelona, again via Dubai, also with Emirates. We’ll enjoy a four-night stay in Barcelona before boarding the Sun Princess to begin our Mediterranean cruise.
