Getting Ready for the Next Cruise!

Was I not just doing this the other day?  Deja vu!  We just finished semi-unpacking from our Coral Princess cruise and are packing again!

Next Sunday, December 1st, we will board the Majestic Princess in San Pedro for the voyage around South America to Ft Lauderdale.  We just returned from a 32-day voyage on the Coral Princess, Singapore to Los Angeles.  This is the shortest period of time we have ever had between long trips.  We will celebrate Thanksgiving and Christmas at the same time with our family, which is kind of strange.  Our 10-yr-old granddaughter is not very happy with us for leaving on this trip without her!

We were in South America during March/April of last year on the Sapphire Princess, 32-day, Buenos Aires to Los Angeles.  We were also in many of these same ports in 2011 when we cruised to Antarctica on the Star Princess.  This time around the ports are not really important to us, the 51-days and the minimal flight home was the enticement!  Being a Cuban-born Spanish speaker, we always enjoy our time in Latin America and are looking forward to returning.

As we were recently in most of the same ports, we have only booked a couple of excursions for this voyage.  One excursion is with Shaun of Adventures Falklands.  Last year we went with Shaun to Volunteer Point and walked amongst three colonies of different Penquin species (Magellanic, Gentoo, and Kings) and had a FANTASTIC time!

If you would like to see our photos and video (on Page 10 of Cruise Critic Blog) from Volunteer Point, check-out the link below from my Cruise Critic Blog.

On this trip we will be visiting the Gentoo Penquin colony at Gypsy Cove with Shaun, just outside of Stanley (Falklands).  We have also booked a daytime walking tour in Buenos Aires, our favorite city in South America, with BA VIP Tours.  Last year, during our week in Buenos Aires pre-cruise, we spent two full days with Sebastian, the company owner, seeing the many parts of the city.  Sebastian has also arranged a Tango Dinner Show for us at "Cafe de Los Angelitos."  We attended this show last year and LOVED it!  The dinner was really good and the Malbec flowed non-stop!

We are excited to be visiting Brazil for our first time.  Luckily for all of us onboard the ship, the Brazilian government postponed the need for a visa until April of 2025.

We will have several friends cruising with us on this voyage, as well as several good friends amongst the crew.  On our recent Coral Princess cruise, we befriended two families (they do not know each other) with well-mannered teenagers that will also be onboard for the entire 51 days.  We'll all have a great time at the Vines Wine Bar (not the teenagers! 😅).

I'll update you on all on the upcoming changes to the ship that are to occur during the March dry dock in Palermo. Italy, as well as any significant things that might happen while we are sailing.  And of course, our day in ports.

Stay tuned more to come once we are onboard!
