Cruise Day #26 - Cádiz, Spain

Today we were in the port city of Cádiz, the gateway to Seville (or as I prefer to call it, Sevilla). We couldn’t quite remember if this was our third or fourth visit, but we do recall our first time here many years ago with our friends, the Ruizes. On that visit, we explored the city entirely on foot.

Cádiz is a maze of small, narrow pedestrian-only streets filled with shops, cafés, and restaurants.

On our second visit, we made the trek to Sevilla—a 90-minute trip each way. So today, we decided once again to stay local and explore on foot.

It was a bit cool and windy, with rain threatening all day. Debbie did her best to shop, but nothing really caught her eye. We eventually found an interesting little restaurant called Red Tuna, tucked behind the central market, and decided to give it a try. The food was excellent and reasonably priced. We shared a paprika and chopped tuna mousse served with baked bread,
seafood croquetas,
and Thai wok-fried rice with chunks of tuna and vegetables.
By the end of the meal, we were stuffed! To walk it off, we wandered through the city for another couple of miles, and by the time we made it back to the ship, we had logged 5.8 miles for the day.

We made it back to the ship just in time! Not long after we boarded, a huge thunderstorm rolled in with booming thunder and a heavy downpour. We were very glad to stay dry!
