Cruise Day #7 - Sea Day 6 of 6

We changed things up last night and started our evening at The Club, listening to the band. There’s a whole different group of passengers who seem to prefer this venue over the Observation Lounge. Interestingly, the Captain and several of his officers appear to enjoy it as well—we’ve spotted them at a corner table more than once. The Captain even stopped by our table to check in and see if we were having a good time. Very personable guy.

We’ve officially found our sweet spot when it comes to timing at The Restaurant. By arriving after 7:30, our table has consistently been available, along with our now-favorite servers. Last night’s meal was extraordinary. We both started with the tuna tartare—absolutely delicious.

Debbie followed that with the marinated grilled vegetables and buffalo mozzarella, while I opted for the Coquille Saint-Jacques au Beurre d’Ail. Such a fancy name for scallops baked in garlic butter, and wow—both the flavor and the presentation were spot on.

For our entrées, Debbie chose the black truffle risotto and I had the seared mahi-mahi.

Simply amazing. As I’ve mentioned before, we usually skip dessert… but last night the caramelized pineapple sundae caught my eye. I love pineapple, I love coconut, and when the two are combined, all self-control goes out the window. OMG—spectacular. A twenty on a ten scale!

So far, the wines offered at dinner have been quite decent. There was only one miss—a California Cabernet that just didn’t do it for us. Tonight’s red, however, was a very nice Rioja that complemented dinner beautifully. 🍷

We left the dining room just in time to grab front-row seats for Michael Lynche’s final show. He’s a very talented singer and entertainer.
By the time the show ended, I had sufficiently digested the sundae and was able to waddle my way back to our stateroom. 🤣 Before retiring for the night, we moved our clocks back an hour. We are now on Hawaii time.

The seas were rockin’ again overnight and into this morning. After a light breakfast in The Restaurant, we made our way to the pool. It was completely overcast, with a light rain falling. We settled into our favorite loungers tucked under a roof overhang, waiting it out until the sun decided to make an appearance.
A quick check of my Windy app’s satellite imagery showed we were passing through the tail end of a huge weather system to our northeast.

At 11:30 am, the sun made a grand entrance!
For lunch today, we are going with Beyond Meat burgers from the Patio!

That's it for today. Tomorrow we will be in Honolulu.
