Cruise Day #43 - Fortaleza, Brazil

We arrived on a partially cloudy day.  It is going to be in the mid-80's with humidity around 90%!  This is the 4th largest city in Brazil and the Capital of the Northeastern Province of Ceara'.  It is home to a population of 4 million people.

The water looks completely different!

Today was somewhat of a bust for us.  Fortaleza is known for its beaches, but we had decided early on that we were not going to the beach.  So, we took an Uber from the port terminal with the intention of going to the Central Market area downtown.  We had been told that since it was Sunday, the multi-level market would be closing at 1 pm.

Once we arrived, we both agreed that the area did not interest us very much.  We had our driver show us a bit more of the surrounding area and decided that this busy metropolis was not for us.  Obrigado, but back to the ship please!  Total spent, $20 USD.

Back onboard, it seemed that many other passengers had the same impression of the city as the ship was fairly busy for a port day.  

We will now have four consecutive sea days on our way to Martinique.
