We have a table reserved at 2:00 p.m. in front of one of their large TVs to watch the championship rugby match—should be exciting!
But back to breakfast: Debbie had scrambled eggs with avocado and toast, Douw ordered the classic English breakfast, and I enjoyed the Lebanese shakshuka, which was absolutely delicious. The total for breakfast—including two cappuccinos, Earl Grey tea, a liter of water, and a 10% tip—was only $30 USD! The dollar goes a long way here! By the way, a 10% gratuity is customary in South Africa.
After breakfast, we took care of the bill for our apartment. Would you believe it was only $100 USD per night? What a find—we’ll definitely be coming back!
Debbie and I then walked to the Oranjezicht City Farm Market near the Victoria Mall. It’s a large open-air market filled with handmade crafts, clothing, fresh produce, flowers, and plenty of food stalls. There’s also a spacious picnic area with lots of tables. It was extremely crowded, but we had a great time exploring all the different stalls.
Later, we met up at the restaurant to watch the game. There was a lively crowd, and luckily, South Africa pulled off a close win — 29 to 27! They are now the 2025 Southern Hemisphere Champions.
