Cruise Day #35 - Sea Day, 7 of 8

Last night we met up with our friends, Jill and Mike, at Crooners for a pre-dinner glass of wine at 6 pm, before we all had dinner together. We managed to snag a corner of a booth, but the rest of the lounge was packed! At 7:30, I finally interrupted the lively conversation with, “I hungry!!!” We’d had our O’Malley’s lunch at 11:30, and by then I was feeling some serious hunger pangs. I’m going to be in a world of hurt when we return home — my normal routine of intermittent fasting (no food between 6 pm and 11 am) is going to be a shock to the system! Then it’s usually just a tiny lunch (under 350 calories) and dinner around 5:30. Debbie and I have already discussed how important it will be to get back to that routine. And we will only have wine two nights a week at home… another big shock! 🍷🤣

Back to our regularly scheduled program:

We all enjoyed a really great dinner in the Sanctuary Restaurant. The tuna steaks were delicioso! And once again, we were among the last folks to leave the dining room. I kept a close eye on the room — I didn’t want to be the actual last ones lingering.

The seas have calmed and the skies are lightly clouded. We received our disembarkation information and luggage tags last night. Always a sad sight!

We also turned the clocks back another hour. We’re now only 4 hours behind PST. Overnight, we received a “Prepare for your flight” email from American Airlines with no mention of delays or cancellations. Fingers crossed that our non-stop flight home from Miami International goes exactly as planned. 🤞✈️

It seems like we’re bulking up before returning home! For breakfast, Debbie kept it simple with basic eggs and avocado 🥑, while I went all-in with the smoked salmon and onion omelet.

This has to stop! For our last two breakfasts onboard, it’ll be toast only… I promise! (Hold me to it.)

For lunch we met up with our good friends from Pittsburgh, at Makato Ocean. We met a few years ago on a cruise and have kept in regular contact ever since. We’ve now sailed together on at least four voyages. It’s always great to catch up in person, and Noah is such a nice, polite boy.
This was our first time having lunch at Makato Ocean. We both ordered the sampler, and wow— it was not only delicious, but an absolute mountain of sushi! In hindsight, we definitely should’ve shared one of them. 🍣

Today is reunion day with our friends before the end of the voyage! 🎉 We are meeting up with Robert and Jaewoo at Crooners 🍸 before our 7:30 reservation at Sabatini’s. We’ve sailed with them on multiple cruises and always enjoy their company. They’re also looking forward to their first Seabourn voyage — Papeete to Los Angeles 🌴🚢 — this April. They’re eager to hear all about our January Seabourn experience! 😄
