We are finally on the way to Orlando! It was a huge quagmire at LAX this morning. We were picked up on time at 5:30 a.m. for our 8:00 a.m. flight to Dallas. Everything was going smoothly—until they announced that boarding would be delayed by 20 minutes due to the plane being too full of fuel.
Say what? Too much fuel? They said the plane was too heavy and had to have some fuel removed from the tanks.
Things really went south when they announced an additional 20-minute delay. We thought our 2-hour layover in Dallas would be sufficient—well, not today! I'll make a long story much shorter: we finally departed LAX 4.5 hours later! We eventually changed our connecting flight to Orlando three times.
We are currently waiting in Dallas for our next flight, with an arrival time in Orlando at 12:30 a.m. This is why we always book non-stop flights for domestic trips.
Oh well—the adventure of booking a last-minute trip. I guess we'll have a "nap" after we check into our hotel in Cocoa Beach. We can't wait to be onboard the ship!!!
