We've made it to Miami!

After a 5+ hour nonstop flight on Delta from LAX, we’ve finally arrived in Miami. I can’t say I’m a fan of those brutal 4 a.m. wake-up calls for early flights, but the upside is landing with plenty of time to settle in before dinner. Totally worth it!

Our granddaughter had the right idea—she caught up on her sleep during the flight! 

The flight was smooth and uneventful, just the way we like it. After landing, we took a shuttle van to our hotel, the Hilton Ft. Lauderdale Marina. The view from our balcony. 

We arrived at 6:15, checked in, dropped off our bags, and walked a block over to the Boatyard restaurant. The seafood dinner was FANTASTIC—fresh, flavorful, and exactly what we needed!

After dinner, we strolled back to the hotel, said our goodnights, and headed straight for some much-needed hot showers. We’re all ready to sleep like babies tonight!

I almost forgot to add that our granddaughter caught a baby gecko on the way “home.” She is quite the extraordinary lizard catcher—Abuelo taught her well!
