I apologize for splitting days into separate posts—it’s just a bit tricky to view and edit photos right before heading to bed after such long days. But I’ve learned how important it is to blog daily. If you fall behind, catching up becomes overwhelming!
Here are a few more animal sightings from Day #2.
Southern Yellow Billed Hornbill
While we were watching the lions yesterday, we had parked properly on our side of the road (and had been there for nearly an hour) when a lady in a Range Rover started yelling at us to move so she could squeeze through the jam. She wasn’t too happy when we let her know we weren’t ready to go yet. She shouted, “You need to read the rules!” We calmly told her we knew the rules and weren’t breaking them. Oh, she was sooo mad!
The camp restaurant sits right next to the Sabie River. We had a really nice brunch here yesterday. The water level is very low right now, but we were told that just last year the river was overflowing its banks—that must have been a lot of water!
Here are a few landscape shots from our day yesterday. The morning started off cloudy and misty, but by the afternoon the sun came out and temps reached the high 70s. It’s supposed to warm up even more over the next few days.
