Cruise Day #16 - Sea Day 7 of 7

When you have a string of consecutive sea days, they all start to blur together—kind of like Groundhog Day. So, last night we began our evening, once again, in the Observation Bar. Most of our friends there are avid trivia players, and several of them wanted to test us on the day’s questions. Well… it quickly turned into a laugh fest, especially since I was intentionally responding with completely preposterous answers. 😂

That said, we did get a few right. One question was: Which day of the week is named after a Roman god? The answer was Saturday. Can you grasp the concept?

As much as we hated to leave the happy crowd, it began to thin out as folks headed off to their dinner plans. We made our way to The Restaurant, where we were seated at our favorite table—just the right amount of ambient lighting. Some sections of the dining room are simply a bit too bright for our taste.

We both started with the pan-fried scallops with aubergine and lemon caviar—definitely a big hit.

I followed with the vegetable pad thai, one of my favorite dishes and absolutely delicious.

For our main course, we each had the soft-shell crabs, another winner.

We were seated next to a solo passenger we’d said hello to several times in passing, so we invited her to join us for dessert. She accepted, and we instantly hit it off. H is now our newest friend! We exchanged life stories and truly enjoyed hearing about her childhood in Germany and her move to the United States. She and I had a lot in common, especially when she related to my leaving Cuba as a child with only the clothes on my back. Needless to say, we almost closed down the dining room!

By the way, I had the strawberry sundae for dessert. Yum!

We slept in this morning until almost 8:30—luxury! After another light breakfast in The Restaurant, we’re now poolside on our favorite loungers. It’s a bit cloudy today and definitely warmer and more humid.

Tonight, we’re looking forward to the Dancing with the Stripes competition. We’ve already met one of the passenger competitors—he’s incredibly nervous since he’s not a dancer. We promised we’d be there to cheer him on!

Tomorrow, we arrive in Bora Bora! 🌴 We’re very excited to return—it’s been about ten years since we were last here.

Note: The date is still one day behind the date onboard. Hopefully, that will be rectified tomorrow when we are on land.  Last night was alm...
